Nikon Coolpix S8100, Fantastic camera And HD Vid camera
I researched this Nikon Coolpix S8100 camera against the Canon Powershot SD4500 IS (aka IXUS 1000). This particular camera replaces my previous Canon Powershot Sd750 internet Elph. The SD750 was a good camera and served me well. Even so it was inadequate for any decent video recording. But I was very accustomed to the Canon menus and design, and enjoyed the layout and feel and look of the Canon. In the end, I went with the Coolpix S8100 over the Canon SD4500 for several key reasons: First, the research and reviews indicated which the Canon may be better suited for video recording however the Nikon holds the edge for the particular photography. And the Canon menus were supposedly better navigable versus Canon.
Here are my first impressions: The very-lightly rubberized/texturized feel of the Nikon is more advanced than the Canon. This camera feels to be a robust, serious, all-business professional camera, as contrasted with. Canon feels more like a adorable, artsy, fun, weekender camera. I got the Nikon in debt finish, which looks absolutely amazing and also gorgeous. The menus are very straightforward to navigate, and I felt right in your house. I did not feel like I was really missing out from having switched to the Nikon, with the Canon. The backlighting feature is amazing – I saw it taken countless indoor portrait pictures with my old Canon have got no good because of backlighting (this is after the subject appears all “black” or washed out/shadowed as you take the picture near a window with sunlight priced, indoors). The video recording is really, very nice, and full 1080p, without a doubt. I purchased a Lexar Class 10 SDHC 32GB 133x write speed card ($75) when the memory card. The 10x optical zoom is amazing – it presents a huge chance for weekend and fun photography.
The issues I mind, but can live by means of (cons): While you are recording online video, you can *definitely* hear (and it will get recorded) the sound of the contact lens motor, especially if you are zooming in/out all the way up. But it’s not the end of your world or a showstopper. If there may other sound that is part of the recording, you will be fine. If you find NO OTHER sound (it’s a calm recording), then yes, if you will be zooming in/out, you will hear which, when you play back your recording.
I also bought a spare electric and separate charger, so I any longer ! “tie up” the Nikon Coolpix S8100 in get to charge a battery.
