Canon HF R200 Flash Memory Camcorder

Canon is a good manufacturer to consider because of its way in categorizing the different models. The letter determines the intended crowd with the S-series for professional users while the R-series is for the entry-level folks. The number after the letter determines the generation so higher numbers are always better. The second digit reflects the internal memory where higher numbers are also better. But if the first digit is followed by two zeroes, it means that there is no internal memory and the Canon VIXIA HF R100 and Canon VIXIA HF R200 share these characteristics. The Canon VIXIA HF R200 is the newcomer to the series and it brings a lot of improvements onboard.

Canon VIXIA HF R200 Review
Smart AUTO function makes you able to automatically select the optimal preset settings for shooting. Canon DIGIC DVIII Processor is available to independently select the optimum scenario. A unique feature Tele Auto enables focus on the minimum distance of 40 centimeters from the lens. In addition Canon VIXIA HF R200 allows you to make 30 pictures photo from the first second of video. Now the good photos, you can easily receive, print, send by e-mail and share.

Canon HFR200 has slight differences when it comes to color but the design remains unchanged. No wonder, Canon VIXIA HF R200 is the perfect entry-level device to those people who are acquainted with VIXIA series. Because of its 10.9-ounce weight and comfortable grip belt, users find Canon VIXIA HF R200 comfortable to use. LCD display is the major change, now it has touch screen which makes it easier for the user to operate the digital camcorder. You will no longer see an extra buttons at the side that needs extra space and makes the camcorder bigger.

Canon VIXIA HF R200 is a good value-oriented camera that works well with my Mac. It is easy to use with intuitive controls – although some of the advanced settings required me to read the instruction manual. For good quality home movies, it seems to be perfect; and the minor improvement in video quality available on higher-end models probably isn’t worth the additional cost.
